About us…

Mystic Farm and Distillery began in 2013 when two friends began blending a unique liqueur from bourbon, wildflower honey, and a nine-spice tea. In 2015 we purchased a 22-acre farm in Durham County and began construction on the first bourbon distillery in the triangle since prohibition. All our spirits are hand-crafted from the grain we grow, water from our onsite aquifer, and produced with the utmost care and patience. We are proud to craft the Piedmont’s superior grain, water, and aging climate into the world’s finest spirits. While we appreciate the international recognition our spirits have received, we place the highest value on the esteem of our local customers. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at the Farm!

FAQ

Do you offer tastings and tours of the distillery?

Yes! We offer free tastings of all our products every day we are open! There is no need to schedule a tasting, however please keep in mind that we are a small business, so other services may take precedence before someone is able to assist you. A full tasting generally takes about 20-30 minutes.

Additionally, we offer public guided tours at 2 PM & 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. We also offer the option to book a private tour outside of those time frames. For more information on tours, please visit the Tours Tab of this website.

Where can I purchase your products, and do you ship?

All of our products can be purchased at our Durham location (1413 Stallings Road, Durham, NC, 27703). You can also purchase our products through our website for pick up at our Durham location. Some of our products can be found at some ABC stores in the state of North Carolina, however it varies from store to store.

Currently, we are unable to ship within or outside of the state of North Carolina. A third-party vendor (www.cellar.com) does carry a few of our products and is able to ship.

Do you sell Gift Cards?

Yes! You can purchase a physical card in store, or you can purchase an e-gift card under the “Other Products” section of our “Spirits | Shop” page on this website.

Where can I get the Bourbon Mash Beef?

We have recently started selling locally sourced beef that has been fed the left over mash from our distilling process (after the alcohol has been cooked down). Our up-to-date inventory can be found through the Mash Beef Ticket Page. This is also the only place you can purchase the beef at this time. All purchases must be picked up at our Durham Location (1413 Stallings Road, Durham, NC 27703) as we unfortunately do not ship any of our products at this time. For more information on our beef, please visit the ticketing page included above.

Can I bring outside alcohol?

Under no circumstances may anyone bring outside alcohol on the premises of our distillery.
This regulation is in ordinance with North Carolina law. Anyone found to have alcohol on the property that they did not purchase from our facility will be asked to dispose of said alcohol and may be asked to leave the property. Furthermore, the only alcohol that may be consumed on site are beverages purchased from our bar staff. Any spirit bottles purchased may not be opened or consumed on the property.

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! We have 22 acres of private farmland and allow dogs both inside and outside our facilities. Dogs must remain leashed while visiting Mystic Farm & Distillery.

Are individuals under age 21 allowed?

Yes! We allow guests of all ages to attend our public events and most private events (unless otherwise declared for a specific event). All minors under the age of 18 years old must be supervised by a parent or guardian of 21 years or older while visiting. Finally, we leave it to the discretion of the parent or guardian to determine what events may be appropriate for their children to attend.

Do you provide food?

While we do our best to recruit local food trucks to our public events, we are ultimately reliant on third party vendors’ availability for these events. We do allow guests to bring their own food so long as that food does not need to be cooked with an open flame. We also provide small snacks for more involved classes and certain special events when declared.

What alcoholic beverages do you serve?

We serve a very limited menu that show cases the spirits we distill here on site. Currently, we make bourbon, bourbon liqueur, vodka, gin, and rum. All our cocktails include at least one of these spirits and our menu varies regularly. Our ability to deviate from our current menu at any point is limited to the ingredients we have on hand, so special requests may not be possible.

We also serve a very limited beer and wine selection for guests who would prefer something other than a cocktail. Our beer and wine selections vary based on availability from our vendor and are more limited in supply than the spirits we make on site.

Are your products gluten free?

Our bourbons are made with a 55% corn and 45% wheat mashbill, and we process all our grains on site. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that any products will truly be gluten free. While the gluten protein does not survive the distilling process, wheat particles from the grinding process may be present on bottles and surfaces. Please use your own discretion if you are Celiac or have gluten sensitivity.

Where can I find out about upcoming events?

The Events page on our website as well as our social media (Facebook & Instagram) are the best places to find out about upcoming events at Mystic! We typically try to keep our Events page updated with up to two months scheduled in advance. If you don’t see the event you’re looking for on our website that usually means it’s not scheduled.
