Swing by Mystic Farm and Distillery from 7-9 pm for a never-forget swing dancing class!

Get ready to “cut a rug” with Joel & Jackie Plys from Retro Rhythm.  They specialize in Swing Era dancing from the 1920s-50s.  Swing Dancing is a great way to get fit, have fun, and socialize. No partner is required for the lesson as we will rotate. If you want to stay with one person/partner throughout the lesson we can accommodate that as well.  

There will be a 30 minute class from 7-7:30pm to teach you how to swing, followed by social dancing from 7:30-9pm with a live DJ for you to show off your new skills!

Matilda is a standup comedian and writer based in Washington, D.C. Matilda has performs regularly at the D.C. Improv, the Arlington Drafthouse Theater, and the D.C. Comedy Loft. She has featured for touring comics including Matthew Broussard, Emil Wakim, and Maddie Wiener. Matilda’s writing has been featured in Little Old Lady Comedy, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and Belladonna Comedy.

Meet at Mystic Farm & Distillery for our Kentucky Derby Party! Wear your Derby attire and come join us for mint julebs made with Mystic Bourbon. There will be food trucks, live music and games on the lawn. The party begins at 2pm extending through the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” and continues until 9pm.

Make sure you come dressed to impress. There will be a “Best Dressed Woman” , “Best Dressed Man”, and “Best Dressed Couple” contest. Please join us for a professionally led course on the art and science of blending bourbon! In 2023, we won Best Bourbon under 5 years in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for our Broken Oak Whiskey; a blend of bourbons from our Broken Oak casks.

The masterminds behind this excellent bourbon will lead you through blending your very own bottle! We hand select samples from 3 of our barrels to bring you the best tasting experience. Through the course, you will sample these bourbons individually and work with your instructor on identifying flavors and creating blends that are unique to you and your tastes. At the end, you will take home a 375 mL bottle of your delicious and customized blend. Participants also receive a tour of the distillery, so you can see where and how we make the bourbons you will try.

Starting in February on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday's, Mystic will be hosting a Dedicated Beginner Line Dancing Classes with instruction by Carolina Crew Line Dancing's Sue Jennings.

Each class will last two hours and feature instruction on the basic line dance steps, terminology, technique while learning fun dances. This class will give you all the confidence to dance the night away at our Monthly Line Dancing Party!

The American Wildlife Refuge's rescued raptors will be returning to Mystic Farm and Distillery in Durham. The AWG is one of the oldest all volunteer bird of prey rehab centers in the state. They will bring their beautiful ambassador raptors to teach us about the importance of their conservation and rehabilitation efforts, up close and in person.

It will be a day where you can see the birds, try some bourbon, and take a tour of the distillery. This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome.

Tickets are FREE, though donations to the AWR during the event are appreciated!
